HEMP: ALL OF THE GOODNESS IT HAS TO OFFER + HOW WE CAN EASILY INCORPORATE IT INTO OUR ROUTINE


Hemp or Cannabis Sativa L is part of the Cannabaceae family, however it is of the non-drug variety; it is not the same as the drug variety marijuana (enjoying hemp is not going to get you high).

It is, however going to provide you with some great benefits including:

  • A complete protein source

  • It is easily digested

  • Vitamin E

  • Magnesium

  • Iron

  • Potassium

  • Zinc

  • A perfect ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids

  • Anti-inflammatory properties

Manitoba Harvest (www.manitobaharvest.com) has a great selection of hemp products that you can start incorporating into your routine. Hemp hearts can be added to salads, cereals and yogurt; there are also hemp heart toppers, hemp heart bites, toasted hemp seeds, hemp oil and hemp protein powders.

Some of my favourite ways to incorporate hemp into my routine is by sprinkling hemp hearts on my salads or yogurt and by using hemp oil when making salad dressings.

Try adding some hemp to your meal planning for all the nutritional goodness it has to offer.

I am pleased to announce our commitment to Canadian Feed the Children, an organization dedicated to providing support to children and families in Canada as well as internationally in Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana and Uganda.

We have committed to donating a portion of our monthly sales to Canadian Feed the Children to help provide children and families in need with such things as increased access to nutritious food and quality education, and community support. Together we are creating a healthier and brighter future for children around the world.
